YRI – Pizza UK Update
We have now reached the end of the in-store customer donation initiative, and the entire WFP team would like to say a huge “Thank You” to everyone who has helped make this year’s World Hunger Relief programme the most successful ever! Here are some fantastic stories behind this year’s initiative.
Marathon Running
The HR team split into three groups and completed the 26-mile London Marathon course in a variety of ways. With everyone dressed in Utter Hutter t-shirts, the teams completed their
respective sections by foot, bicycle, and even rowing! The event raised well over £2,000 in
sponsorship money.
Wildlife Conservation
The Finance team indulged in some back-breaking labour by clearing weeds from parkland near Waltham Abbey. Clearing the weeds will encourage local wildlife to thrive in the area and the event raised much needed sponsorship money for WFP.
Scunthorpe 767 – Lands End to John O’Groats
The team at Scunthorpe 767 set themselves an epic challenge of cycling the distance from Lands End to John O’Groats, on an exercise bike, in just 36 hours. As if this challenge wasn’t enough though, the team decided against the 601 mile distance as the crow flies, instead opting for a much longer, 854 mile route! The team completed the challenge in 35 hours and 5 minutes and raised over £600 for World Hunger Relief, a superb effort!
