Achieving Breakthrough Results: $116K Donations Raised by ADF in 2008
Pizza Hut franchisee, ADF Companies in Queens Village, N.Y., raised over $116,000 for the World Hunger Relief Effort in 2008 — enough to pay for 464,000 meals for the hungry.
The team was ensured that each and EVERY customer was asked if they would like to donate a dollar to help end world hunger, and gave World Hunger wristbands to customers.
ADF Team Members also wanted to stage an event outside their four walls during a day part not normally associated with pizza. They made signs, gathered buckets, sponges, and hoses and spent the better part of their Saturdays as Ambassadors for World Hunger Relief. One car wash in particular accepted $629 in donations in the process of washing over 50 vehicles. That’s enough for over 2,500 meals!
The team raised $4,237 for World Hunger Relief. As a reward for this accomplishment, ADF was granted $10,000 to donate to a local charity. And ADF offered to match the donation amount!
ADF also designed fun T-shirts for their store employees around World Hunger. If employees donated money to the World Hunger initiative, they received a great personalized Pizza Hut T-shirt that they were able to wear to work! It generated a lot of employee excitement and donations!
